The Camlin Kelvatek Profile P3 is a portable circuit breaker analyzer and profiling instrument used to assess the true operational condition of power circuit breakers without taking them out of service. Unlike traditional timing tests that may miss latent mechanical or electrical faults after initial movement, the Profile P3 captures the critical “first trip” signature—the breaker’s response during its very first operation under live conditions—to reveal performance deviations that can indicate hidden defects in trip coils, DC supply circuits, or mechanical mechanisms. This first‑trip profiling approach gives asset managers a more accurate, real‑world picture of breaker health, enabling condition‑based maintenance strategies that can reduce operating costs and extend asset life.

Equipped with a large color display and intuitive graphical interface, the Profile P3 records and overlays multiple operation profiles, allowing onsite comparative analysis of up to four trip or close profiles for rapid defect identification. Features such as multi‑shot capture, combined relay and breaker testing (with enhanced software), and automated pass/fail comparison against user‑set tolerances enhance diagnostic efficiency, enabling technicians to pinpoint issues like slow trip times, sticky mechanisms, or degraded DC circuits quickly and accurately.
