Description

The Sewerin Variotec 460 Tracergas is a professional portable gas leak detector engineered for precise localization of leaks in underground pipelines and other buried infrastructure using tracer gas detection technology. It is specifically designed to work with a safe 5 % hydrogen / 95 % nitrogen tracer gas mixture, enabling highly sensitive detection of escaping gas down to very low concentrations (as low as 0.1 ppm of hydrogen) thanks to its advanced semiconductor sensor with exceptionally low cross-sensitivity to moisture and methane.

Featuring an intuitive operating concept with a large backlit display and simple menu navigation, the Variotec 460 Tracergas offers reliable and fast measurement results even in challenging environments. The instrument’s integrated thermal-conductivity sensor expands the measurement range up to 100 % vol. hydrogen, allowing it to perform additional measurement tasks beyond standard leak detection. Measurement data can be stored internally and transferred via USB to a computer for further analysis and reporting.

Powered by four AA-size rechargeable batteries that charge in about three hours and provide at least eight hours of operation (with disposable batteries also supported), the Sewerin Variotec 460 Tracergas combines mobility with robust performance. Optional accessories such as the D80 bell probe improve response times and extend usability across a range of applications, from utility leak surveys to plumbing, civil engineering, and industrial network maintenance.
